Project Overview

The Upper Letaba Catchment in South Africa is a critical water resource for millions of people and ecosystems downstream. To ensure its continued function, the conservation and restoration of the ecological infrastructure and biodiversity in the area is necessary. This involves sustainable farming practices, the restoration of indigenous grasslands, preservation of indigenous forests, creating awareness about the benefits of conservation, a pilot project with a local school, and possible corporate inclusion through carbon offset opportunities. Local landowners can play a crucial role in this effort by using herbicides and pesticides responsibly, creating corridors that link with each other and protecting river banks.
