The past – as they say – cannot be changed!
Maybe not, but we can certainly learn from it, and create a better future for ourselves. Enter our mind-chatter straight away – as it defiantly bites back – within the vast majority of us at one time or another, and asserts… ‘Ah, but it’s not that easy!’
The reality is though, it is!
Let’s put this into some kind of context…everything becomes easier, once you know how – it’s a question of learning and adapting. Remember when we were first learning to ride a bike, as we wobbled nervously, before invariably falling off! Don’t we do the same thing in life… allow fear and doubt to creep in, and prefer the (perceived) safe haven – known as the past – rather than risk having any future pain?
Like riding a bike, it’s a question of creating some initial momentum, maintaining balance and ultimately, confidence to feel everything will be okay; whilst – at the same time – ensuring our human needs are being met. So begs the question why should we even bother? Don’t we all owe it to ourselves, to keep growing and contributing? After all if we don’t, perhaps we’d remain like that small child, as they never get to grips with mastering riding a bike, and as a result, cannot go on any future exciting journeys or ventures…
