THERE COMES A TIME…

“There comes a time, when we heed a certain call, when the world must come together as one…” Many of us may instantly recognize these iconic lyrics from the opening of the USA for Africa 1994 song, “We Are The World.”

Thirty years on, and we at World Game-Changers continue to contribute to Africa; this time in partnership with the life-enhancing Centre for Adolescent & Young Change-Makers – headed-up by a wonderful servant leader, Collins Mureithi.

Those of us who know and work with this remarkable man are truly blessed. His social media posts about his life-changing work educating and training young leaders are the antidote to the bad news we so often see in the world. He certainly “heeds a certain call,” and now, he has invited our family to “come together as one” to support the Centre and these young future servant leaders in the Young Change-Makers Fellowship.

This fellowship is a twelve-week program whose mission is to build the next generation of young African leaders through training and mentorship programs. During the program, participants will offer solutions to community problems and receive our support. The goal of the program is to build skills that will help them in becoming transformative leaders as they become self-sufficient. After twelve weeks, these young leaders will graduate as certified young change-makers as they continue with their community’s initiatives. If you see the testimonials from young leaders who have gone through the program, you can see the difference that it makes.

As of this writing, the fourth cohort of this program has begun, thanks to the generous support of the World Game-Changers family. A GoFundMe page by Daniel Gasser has raised over $1,600 USD towards an intended target of $2,200. Just $60 CHF allows one student to attend the 12-week program.

Throughout May, World Game Changers’ podcast will air twice a week – Tuesdays and Thursdays – continuing with the theme of episodes called “The Second Greatest Story Ever Told.” There being 10 episodes, with the final one reaching our milestone Episode #600!, featuring a diverse all-start line-up of inspirational guests.
